Retatrutide

Description

Retatrutide is a triple agonist peptide targeting GLP-1, GIP and glucagon receptors. It is currently in Phase 3 trials and is being investigated for its combined metabolic effects on energy balance and glucose handling.

Mechanism of Action

Retatrutide activates three incretin-related receptors. Co-activation of the glucagon receptor is proposed to increase energy expenditure, while GLP-1 and GIP receptor activity improve glucose-dependent insulin secretion and reduce appetite.
